Same Love

This morning, I woke up early 15 minutes late, walked the dog, turned on the TV, looked for what channel CNN is on (yes, I just found out it's 202), prepared Ron's breakfast and waited for the Supreme Court's decision on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California's Proposition 8.

Macklemore and I have something in common: WE SUPPORT EQUALITY.
I was not only doing this for myself, but for our client who visibly supports marriage equality. For those who do not know, I work in social media and it's all about relevancy and perfect timing on here. I made sure I was sitting in front of the TV at 7am with my laptop in front of me. I texted my supervisor that I will be in late because I'm waiting for the rulings on the both cases, and this is work-related.

At around 7:15, DOMA was overturned. I could only imagine how happy my LGBT friends are. The government now acknowledges the federal rights of married gay/lesbian couples. They must be really, really happy.

A few minutes after that, Proposition 8 was considered unconstitutional. Gay/lesbian couples in California can get married legally, again. As I was typing my status update on Facebook, I felt tears stream down my cheeks. Then I realized, this is a truly happy day. Words cannot express how happy I am for my sister, for my sister's girlfriend and for every gay/lesbian couple who is in love. Then our dog started licking my face, it was time to get ready for work.

I am Catholic. I am straight. I support marriage equality.

Oh, and this made my day...

Soooo, I think it's time to finally share pictures from our wedding? I actually mentioned it in one of my recent posts but I feel the need to make the sharing of these with you guys official. I created a page for it but since I have not had the chance to fix my blog's layout yet, here they are! :)

One weekend in November, we decided to book a chapel in Las Vegas for a December wedding. It did not take too long for us to decide where we're going to have it and we're glad that it did not back fire. After little hurdles along the way, we tied the knot and are now living happily in our little rental townhouse, sleeping with our legs tangled, waking up hearing and saying those three words and everything lovey dovey you can think of ;)

Enjoy the pictures!
