Connecting While Disconnected

Mango Snow from Tasty To Go. So yummy!
Last Sunday, after doing some labor at home (like putting winter coats from the coat closet to storage, vacuuming around the house, dusting, baking 10 dozens of cookies, trimming the patio plant, giving Fox a bath, and cleaning the fish tank), it was time to walk Fox. Ron and I haven't taken a walk together with the dog in a while (like 2 days LOL) so I was a little excited that I was finally not too lazy to walk. After taking out the trash, we went straight to walking around our neighborhood, with only our house keys and Fox.

It felt good that we were actually talking about anything in our mind and we're not starting conversations with "have yous een so-so's post?" Our conversation was about our future together, how funny our dog is and his pooping patterns (hahaha), which house we'd like to buy from the streets around us if we had the money, how exhausted we are from doing house work...pretty much everything but anything that involves our social media life. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy every conversation I have with my husband, it just feels more special when cellphones and laptops an tablets are not present. :)

Our company is moving to another office down the street so we're going so today is packing day and eat at your favorite restaurant day. We're also working from home tomorrow (YAY!) so the movers can move everything to the new office. I'm so excited to go to the new place but a little worried about training Fox to get used to the place again. I've already put 10 lbs of paper from my 5 years of working here into the shredder bin and it felt so good!

Five pounds of paper.
Dahliawolf reached out to me the other day and asked me to help them design a dress! I'm so excited!!! :D

21 Choices

Oh hello! How was your weekend? Mine was fulfillingly sore from working out (again) - I swear the first few days are the hardest. I also had to deal with some kind of a muscle pain in my right thigh that lasted until I decided to sleep on my left side. When I woke up yesterday, my right thigh was not as painful anymore but I felt the same pain on the left leg. LOL I guess I need to sleep on my back from now on and risk letting Ron hear me snore. Haha!

Anyway, I'm here to tell you about my Sunday night. After a disappointing dinner at Gyu-Kaku (I just was not really impressed) last Sunday, we walked somewhere down the street to this place called 21 Choices.

Their menu was a little overwhelming for me even if I LOVE sweets! They have unique frozen yogurt blends/mixes such as "Blushing Oreo" and "Strawberry Nutella." Sounds yummy right?! Ron let me pick which flavor we're getting - he's been craving for Whole Foods' Banana Cream Pie so I picked that flavor!

I'm telling you girls (and guys maybe), it's sooooo good. It's just the right mix of flavors and the level of sweetness is perfect! It's Food Network status y'all!

So if you ever find yourself in Los Angeles, make sure to drive to Pasadena or Claremont or USC and try this place out. I'm telling you, it's worth the drive and the experience! :)

Cookielicious!

What's up peoples? ;) I hope everyone's having a great weekend! We're going to a concert to watch the Beatles of the Philippines in Los Angeles tonight and I'm excited! Anyway, here's something that might make your 2-day break from reality even better!

I made these Chocolate Chip Morsel Cookies last Tuesday and it was a hit with Ron and my mom, sister and sister-in-law. These cookies are very cakey so if you prefer the crunchy kind, you might not like this recipe. I reeeally love, soft, chewy, dough-ey (more dough than chocolate chips) cookies so I fell in love with these! It also uses bittersweet chocolate chips so that's a plus!

What You Need:
3/4 c. unsalted butter, softened
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. bittersweet chocolate chips (I used morsels because they didn't have bittersweet choc chips at the store, you can add more of this to your liking - I loooove cookie dough so I stuck with the recipe's 1cup)

What You Need to Do:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2. In the bowl mix together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color. Add egg and vanilla and blend in.
3. Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chunks with a spatula or wooden spoon.
4. Using a standard-sized cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until barely golden brown around the edges. (The tops will not brown, I only did mine for 8 minutes and they were very cakey and soft.)
5. Let cool, on the sheet, on a wire rack (or on top of the stove if you make several batches and you only have one wire rack like me) for five minutes. Remove from baking sheet and let cool completely on wire rack. Makes approximately 3 dozens. Enjoy but try not to eat all of them. Make more in the future.
Found the recipe HERE (of course I found it on Pinterest! LOL).

PS
To all my lovely followers and readers, thank you so much for being here. You peoples are super awesome. I know I haven't been replying to emails (from comments) yet (don't blame me, blame our couch that makes me not want to move) but I promise, I will try to catch up on them soon. :)

[UPDATED] Crepe-tastic Weekend!

My boyfriend has a teeny tiny obsession with crepes as in he craves for it every after dinner or meal. So while watching the (uneventful) Patriots and Broncos match, I had the urge to go in a quick run to Target to get ingredients for a crepe recipe I found online... I'll share the recipe when I log in through my computer. :)

The first photo below is from yesterday and the second one is from tonight ;)

UPDATE:
Here's the recipe I use (it is based on THIS)
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
2 eggs
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1-3 tbsp sugar (depending on your sugar craving)

Mix the flour and eggs. Gradually add the milk, water and butter. Beat until smooth. Then add sugar to taste. I usually use 2.5 tbsp because I make dessert crepes, I haven't tried the savory kind (with basil, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese). Heat the pan - medium heat. I use a 1/3c measuring cup when pouring the batter on the pan. Tilt the pan with a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface of the pan evenly. Cook the crepe for about 2 minutes and turn to cook the other side.

Now for the filling!
I always use Nutella, chocolate syrup and bananas... when I'm making them for anyone else, I add whipped cream. ;)
