Victoria's Secret Sport VoxBox

SORRY FOR THE CRAPPY PHOTOS.

I have not worked out in SO LONG and I took this VoxBox as a sign. *embarrassed laugh*

Dollar Dollar Bills Y'all

Sponsorships and samples have been a little more frequent in the past year. Every time I get an email that I qualify for something, I always get excited and feel lucky that because of blogging, I am able to get free gifts and product samples. Sometimes, I even get monetary compensation – campaigns like those make me feel extra lucky…especially now. :)
Last month, SunTrust reached out to me, and asked me to share a financial story. Although I do not typically share about our family's finances, I found it to be a great opportunity to share what I have learned about being unemployed. So here goes…

I swear, I took my time with these products. Apparently, going to school really does affect your free time. LOL So here's what I got...

Pilot Acroball
You know when they say don't drop your pen so it doesn't blot? I guess in the shipping process, the box got shaken and dropped that the ball of the pen I got was not turning evenly. Boo. I loved that the tip wasn't thick, and that even if it was blotting it still wrote smoothly.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in Sand
I love this foundation even if the first time I tried it, it was one shade too light. It was smooth, light, and did not oxidize on my skin. So when I took the survey, and saw the shades, I knew it was for this foundation and could not wait to get the shade I want need! I don't normally put on foundation but I'm sure this one is going to be my to-go one if I ever feel the need to have a smoother face--which has been a problem for me lately because of the ever-changing weather here in LA!

NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Forever Fuchsia
I've never tried their lipstick before. So the shade I got is pretty intimidating. It's bright...like BRIGHT.  I'm very tan so I always look at things of this shade as early warning devices. I tried it and was not a fan at first. I kept it on to see if I'll like it and will not be surprised by how my bright my lips are. Turns out, I liked it on me...just not sure about wearing it out just yet!

Impress Manicure in Control Freak
I've used this brand before and LOVED it. Its been a while though so I'm excited to have a new set! They're super easy to put on and lasts as long as normal nail polish. I could have asked for a "quieter" shade but it's okay, I'll still wear them because I love pink!

Red Rose Tea Water Enhancer (Instavideo here)
I thought this product was interesting. I am not a fan, and don't really buy products similar to this one but I'm glad I got this and finally got to try it. The darkness of the concentrated liquid got me a bit concerned, and got me thinking what in the world are the chemicals in this thing (scroll down for a picture). It tasted normal and I'd use my sample again but like I said, I don't but products like this because I'd rather drink water.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Dove VoxBox

I got the Dove Vox a couple of weeks ago and finally decided to unbox it tonight. I was sent the Dove Advance Care deodorant in I think the regular scent -- and if I used the scent as basis on how I think the others would smell like, then damn, everything will smell super good. The product I received smelled so good that I wanted to use it right away. However, I did not because I'd like to shower first. LOL! I also noticed that the packaging is the typical deodorant packaging (of course) except that it's matte...not that it would have any bearing on how good the quality of the product actually is but it's a good fresh change.

Did You Know?
36% of what you remove while shaving is skin.

I'll make sure to update you guys about how this product worked for me. I am hopeful that it wouldn't irritate my skin like every other Dove product I use. :)

Violet VoxBox

This box took a long time coming. I was qualified for a Rose Voxbox but got bumped into this one so I had to wait a little longer. It's not a big deal though, what matters is that I got free goodies to try out! Did anyone else get the Violet Voxbox? What did you think about it?

So here are what were in the box along with my review. I will be updating these reviews as I go through all the products.

Goody Athletique Headband
I am a little nervous about wearing this headband because it does not have the non slip rubber thing under it. My head has a weird shape and no matter how thick or thin a headband is, it slides, moves back, and ends up hanging from my pony tail. Unfortunately, this headband is also a victim of my small head. What I liked about it though is that it is not too tight, it is reversible so it's like you have two headbands in one. ;)

Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spa - Dead Sea Mud Spa
This one was interesting. I've never used facial mask that came with an actual cloth-like thing so you wouldn't have to spread the mud yourself. It smelled really good and made my skin feel soft but one thing I noticed was that there was  stinging sensation. It's probably because the face cleanser I used dried my skin out. As someone who likes looking at ads and criticizing marketing campaigns, I think their brochure has a lot of room for improvement. There was sooo much going on. Not exactly product related but still, something to think about. :)

Sally Hansen New Triple Shine - Dive In
The color is pretty but it's kind of out of season. I am definitely wearing it though since I live in California where it's almost always summer.

SOYJOY - Dark Chocolate Cherry
Alright, honestly, I was disappointed  with this. I don't like cherry flavored stuff but I do love dark chocolate but I was not pleased by this bar. I also do not like the packaging. The bar I got tasted fake to me like it was processed so much before it got packaged. It also gave a weird texture in my mouth. As you may have already guessed, I did not finish the whole bar.

Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo [My favorite thing in the Voxbox!]
I have a(n irrational) fear of dry shampoos. But this one changed my mind and I'm going to make my mom try it because she's all about taking really good care of her hair. I think she's going to love this because I did. It had a strong smell at first but it faded after I brushed my hair. My hair was also refreshed after the brushing and the oily hair feeling went away. PS, please know that I am one who would wash my hair everyday because I grew up doing that. Not washing my hair makes me feel very weird like how people feel weird when they forget to wear their wrist watch. But this dry shampoo might change that. Here's a picture of when I used it...you cannot really see how it helped volumize my hair but check it out anyway. :p

Go and Glow [Sponsored] [Updated]

A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking of a wishlist that I'm going to tell my family and one of them was a new hair dryer. That same day, I received an email asking if I would accept this opportunity to review the new Infiniti Pro by Conair Hair Designer and Dryer and the Conair True Glow Sonic Cleansing Brush. I was beyond excited and was totally feeling lucky! I have also been noticing little blackheads on the side of my nose (SO DISGUSTING!) and have been thinking of getting another box of nose strips but hey, Conair is on its way to rescue my face!

I waited for the mailman, checked the side door of the townhouse every time I walk by it and also checked the patio every time Fox barks at the door. Until this one day when I did not check on it and Ron came home telling me that he has a package for me. After dinner that night, I grabbed my box opener and unraveled the package. Unraveled, why did I use that word?

If only I had the energy to still party it up with our friends, I would totally go to downtown, drink, dance, wait for midnight and share a kiss with Ron. However, those days are over and I'd truly rather party in the comfort of one of my friends' home, watch CNN and wait until they replay the ball dropping here in LA. To complete this plan, I also plan to mix a few glasses of Dazzlers, it's a mix of champagne and Hypnotiq You can check out recipe ideas here: http://www.hpnotiq.com/SparkleLouderRecipes.

Before everything, I'd like to check everyone who showed concern and have helped the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. I truly appreciate it. <3 Anyway,  here's Jan Loves' newest sponsor!

Weekdays at home have given me a chance to think more and more about everything I could possibly think of and here's one thing that caught my attention. It was initially an email from a lady I have never spoken beforebut  it turned out to be something I was going to be interested in. I mean, look at the sparkles of the logo up there! ;) Here's the deal, Hypnotiq reached out to me to talk about their upcoming contest. I would totally join if I could but since I'm here, telling you about it I can't count myself in.

Hpnotiq is giving you a chance to win one of 20 Effy Rings and also compete for a grand prize: a New Year’ s Eve trip for you and three girlfriends to New York City for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the ball drop in Times Square! I mean, who doesn't want a free trip to NYC?! :)

http://www.hpnotiq.com/SparkleLouderContest

Joining is easy peasy (and yes, I just tried it!). You just have to upload a pic showing how you plan to  Sparkle Louder on New Year’s Eve - whether it’s a glam outfit, you with your girlfriends or a selfie. Of course, I picked a picture of me when I was in Vegas. Next, I used the options on Hpnotiq’s “SparkleLouder” app to make my photo sparkle! The app and contest entry  page can be found here: http://www.hpnotiq.com/SparkleLouderContest.

Oh and when you share your posts on social media be sure to use the official hashtag: #SparkleLouder

The picture I used was taken to Vegas. I know, I know, Vegas is way different than NYC but I love my dresses short and sweet! I also didn't forget to surround myself with good vibes because that is what makes me Sparkle Louder! Also, SMILE. It's the best accessory ever and it always always takes outfits to a whole new better level!

Oh if only I could win the Sparkle Louder prize.I would totally wear this outfit that I put together last year. I'm not sure if it's enough warmth for the weather in NYC though. :D

New Year

Review: Mineral Hygienics [Sponsored]

Hey hey, it's the first Friday of September and before I let you enjoy the weekend, I'd like to share that I have officially changed my mind about wearing foundation. We haven't had a 180 degree turn on the "issue" but I sure am getting there!

Mineral Hygienics makes foundations using only 4 ingredients. Now I'm not one who bothers to look into ingredients and buy products based on them but knowing that what I put on my face only has four ingredients is pretty amazing. I used to not be a fan of wearing foundation but after I tried this one brand's liquid foundation, I felt the need to have foundation for myself in case I'm in the mood to put on make up.
