We Accept the Love We Think We Deserve

I have recently just started and finished reading The Perks of Being of a Wallflower and right after that, I watched the movie as well. The title of this post is one of my favorite lines from the book and the movie as it means a lot about how we look at ourselves. The book inspired me to be more kind and understanding. To not judge people - except when they wear short shorts and boots in winter because that's just torture to one's self. The book made me think of my past relationship where I felt like I was asking for too much and I settled for what I thought I deserved. So that definitely ended. Then Ron came to my life and as our years together rolled on, he continued to show me what it was to be treated like a princess. We had a rocky start but hey, what matters is where we are now. We are happy, we're silly together and we're so very much in love. :)

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This post is dedicated to...
-those who think that love conquers everything. It does but only of both of you are invested in the relationship.
-those who are still in search of their love.
-those who are afraid to be in a committed relationship. This sounds ridiculous but I think we all go through that phase in life.
-those who are having a hard time letting love in.
-those who are in a one sided relationship.

  1. Great post. Love does not conquer all. You both need to do work, still, and put in the time.

  2. Loved this post and absolutely luh-luh-loved this film! Thanks for sharing in Jan! Happy New Year, hun!

  4. I cried so much when I read the book.... and also when I watched the movie. Definitely an eye opener! :)

  5. I can't wait to see the movie, it only comes out this month here. From your description and these amazing lines...it sounds brilliant and inspiring.

  6. I've heard such good things about that book and have been dying to read it, I think I may just go and get it now. Sounds like my kind of book!
