I've always wondered what PetSmart is referring to when they ask us if we want Fox to have doggie ice cream. Of course, the domesticated woman that I have become, I also wondered if that's something I make at home. Hey, I make muffins, cookies and all these desserts for my husband at home, so why can't I make it for our dog who is basically our baby?
I Googled and Googled and found
a recipe in The Daily Puppy. The recipe only asked for four ingredients!
Two dogs have already tried the doggie Ice Cream I made and so far, it's gotten excellent reviews! I mean, look at Fox lick the shit out of the frozen concoction in the cupcake liner of off his daddy's hand. Not going to lie, Ron and I tried it before we gave it to Fox and it was too tangy for our taste. I guess I'm so used to Yogurtland's plain frozen yogurt.
And Nibbler, my coworker's newly adopted Boston Terrier, licked the shit out of it too! Look at his ice cream covered nose! ;)
What you need:
A banana
32 oz yogurt (I used Dannon Natural Plain)
2 tsp honey
2 tsp peanut butter
A blender or a food processor
Molds – can be ice cube try, cupcake liners, muffins pans, mini muffin pans
Place the banana, yogurt, peanut butter and honey in the blender/food processor. Keep mixing until it's well blended
#EasyPeasy
In case you're concerned, neither of the dogs had diarrhea. Fox's poop was super in good shape. #ShitPetParentsTalkAbout
I'll have to give this a try for my pups! I've always thought about buying it but now that Iknow I can make it, I definitely will. Thanks for sharing Jan!
ReplyDeleteAw, this is such a great idea for our fur babies!! We've given them Frosty Paws but never made our own. :-)
