When Changing Plans is a Good Thing

Ron and I decided to move our weekend plans around and go on a brunch date a couple of weekends ago. We tried a new place (to us!) called Cafe Maji. I've been wanting to visit a place with this kind of interior for so long and even though it took us a year and a half to discover, this one is only 0.6 miles away from our house.

The drinks were amazing, however, the bulgogi quesadilla was a little meh. I'll try a sandwich or the banana nutella waffle next time. My iced espresso was super strong, I had to ask for milk--this is a good thing though! As you can see, presentation of everything was very pretty and did it's job of making the food appetizing. The free wifi is a plus even though we did not use it. We'll definitely be back!

Going For a Good Hike

It's Friday and I'm feeling like the bunny below despite knowing that I'll be going home to an empty home. The husband is going to Vegas without me. :( Okay I'm being dramatic, I'm picking up my mom so we can spend more time together and of course so I have someone to be with at home. Don't worry, my mom knows that that's the reason. Hahaha!

 

Back to my point, my coworker, a good listener and also a Gemini, invited me to go hiking. I said a good listener because she remembered that I mentioned I want to go hiking on a Friday afternoon while it's not yet too hot. I have not been working out so I'm already sure my ass is going to get kicked.

On another note, Ron took me out for dinner last night because we won't see each other until Sunday. We went to the Boiling Crab where the wait was over an hour (we will never go back on a Thursday again). We killed time by walking around the Ross next door where I tried on a lot of dresses and ended up buying nothing. #StoryOfMyLife

Old Town Monrovia

Last Friday, Ron and I took the day off because my our relatives planned to come to LA, unfortunately, they postponed their trip so we took advantage of the day out of work and spent the nice day out.

We spent our late afternoon walking down Old Town Monrovia and visiting the stores we've been wanting to check out. The last picture is of this store that sells discount signature clothes. Upon entering, you would think it's a used clothes store but everything they have are new however, they are from the 80s and 90s or maybe even the 70s. Their shoes are pretty dated too. I honestly was a bit disappointed. Good thing I was with Ron and I had someone to laugh about it with. ;)

Oh how I wish I could be walking down this street again today...

Stella Rosa and the Avengers

On Saturday, I stayed at home, drank leftover wine from Friday night's me time and watched basketball games all afternoon while waiting for the boyf to get home and eat really late lunch/early dinner with me. I made eggplant, meat sauce and mozzarella casserole and fried marinated pork chops.

I'm hooked on Stella Rosa Rosso you guys!
And to avoid anything from spilling, I drank the leftover wine like I would have with beer. ;)

Finally watched the Avengers on Sunday and LOVED it! I cannot stop laughing about [SPOILER] how the Hulk beat up Loki and of course, the shawarma scene! ;)

Good Eats

Last weekend, I asked Ron if we can go eat at Hungry Fox, a breakfast restaurant my best friend told me about. He actually said yes and I got ecstatic so I ran to the shower to get ready. The food was great and it actually tasted homemade. I'd give it 4 stars.

Ron ordered the Chicken and Waffles plate while I tried the Pancake Plate with Bacon.

We also stopped by the infamous Porto's bakery to get cheese rolls for our friends in the Inland Empire. As we were looking at the glass case of baked goods, I was so amused with the Halloween themed desserts so I grabbed Ron's phone and took photos. :)
