Two Sundays ago, Ron wanted to go to church so we got up early and got ready. The mass was at 10am, we're already running late when Ron told me he's starving and he wants our leftover noodle soup. I heated it up for him while I heated up an Ikea Cinnamon Roll in the microwave. When we were FINALLY ready, I drove to church and we could NOT find parking. At this point there was only 15 minutes left in the mass so we decided to just leave and go to Target. Ron and I scored some good deals (who doesnt?) and on our way out the door, we donated some change to the guy who's collecting money for homeless people - I had to put this in here because it made both of us feel good. Haha!
We went home again because we need to change cars for our drive to LA to meet with some friends. I was trying to convince Ron to go to Daichan (they have Japanese soul food) but he pushed back and was very serious about going to Sanjang (a Korean cafe) because that's what he told our friends and we should not be changing the plan. It didn't make sense to me because Daichan was closer to our friends' places and it will be more convenient for them. But he said NO. We stopped by Pasadena to do a little shopping and have our BOGO holiday drinks from Starbucks (Caramel Brulee blended with Caramal Sprinkles is the best).
The early dinner went well. It's Korean food - how can it not go well right?
On our way home, Ron won't let me hold his phone (for the GPS) so I scared him that he'll get pulled over if he doesn't hand it over. The way he was going did not seem right so I checked the directions and it ended in LACMA! I was thrilled because even if I caught him, the thought of him taking me there for a suprise was pretty sweet. He even said, "You took me there last year, now it's my turn to take you there." I took him there on our anniversary last year because he had no idea where it was when we watched No Strings Attached. He was very sweet that night but it's our 35th month together so I did not overthink it.
We walked around the pillars of lights, took pictures and because I like it when he hugs me from behind, I grabbed my phone and took a picture with him. Then he asked me if I loved him and I said yes. Then he asked me if I would marry him, and I said yes. I thought it was one of our silly loveydovey conversations until I turned around and he got down on one knee and tried to get something from his ankle, pulled out a box and opened it. I was speechless. I wanted to get my phone and take a picture of him but didn't. He asked again, I said yes. I was in tears. I pulled him up to hug him. Then I saw my sister's glasses in my peripheral vision, then saw mommy, Danna (my cousin), Epi, Bernice and JM. It was one of the most (if not THE MOST) amazing, breath-taking moments in my life.
