Get that Lifestyle Change Going

Are you one of those who had has "be more healthy/fit" in your resolution list but is not following through? I have had my fair share of including that in my monthly goals/NY resolutions but I realized that I am much better about accomplishing it when I gradually incorporate the lifestyle change in my daily routine. Here are a few little things to slowly add to your day to get to your goal. Also, before anything else, these six things helped me in losing 20 lbs in three months. Thats losing 1 to 2 pounds per week, which is based from what I have read, is not too drastic for the body.

Now that I am at my goal weight, I eat whatever I want in moderation and not feel bad or guilty about it. I mean, just look at the stuff I've been posting on my Instagram. LOL

Prepare your lunch. Bring your own lunch to work. This doesn't only save you money (cha-ching!), it's also good to know what goes into your meal. My staple lunch is turkey ham sandwich--2 slices of toast, one serving of turkey ham and half a serving of light mayo. Make sure to spread the mayo in the middle of the turkey ham slices so it doesn't make the bread soggy!

Walk it off. Walking is good for you mentally and physically. It can be therapeutic as you're giving yourself some time along during your lunch break to think. You'll also realize how short of a walk a mile is after 3-5 days. ;) Are you scared of walking around your sketchy neighborhood? Go to the mall--that's a win-win! LOL

Workout right when you wake up. I am not kidding about this one. I won't recommend it if I have not done it either. Give yourself 10-15 minutes of stretching exercise (I recommend SworkIt's Rump Roaster). You can also do yoga but I found that yoga frustrates me because it is too slow for me. Don't get me wrong though, I love yoga, but only when I am doing it with someone or in a class.

Watch what you eat. I got anal with this. Like, to the point that my coworkers and family would give me weird looks but it was a good thing. I used My Fitness Pal and tracked everything I ate. Most of the time, if the food doesn't have a barcode on it so I can scan it or if it doesn't have Nutritional Info, I skip it. You can also track your weight and/or inches towards your goal through the app. This is a huge step towards being accountable! Don't starve yourself though! Eat what you want but in moderation!

Buy new workout clothes. They don't have to be Lululemon expensive. I love Target's workout clothes. They're very durable and fit me very well. Another good place is Marshalls! Just make sure you buy the right ones. Don't let the cute stuff get to you. Choose them as how you would use them. Sports bras come in low, medium and high impact ones. Even leggings/workout pants come in different kinds so buy the ones you need, not the ones you think you'll look cute in when you get coffee at Starbucks. LOL

Seek inspiration. You can find so many fitness accounts on Tumblr that will push you towards your goal. I even got some exercise routines from there!

Good luck! :)
