Our Little Graduate

After 5 weeks of classes, 5-10 minutes a day training, bags and bags of treats, sitting to be able to enter every doorway, being the only dog in class to "shake," Fox has graduated beginner's class!

When we adopted him, a lot of people told us that his breed (Papillon) is one of the brightest and smartest and that was definitely evident in the months we've had him. He picked up on all the commands that were taught in class easily. We even slipped in the "crawl" and "high five" tricks in our training at home.

Things to Smile About

I think I have had enough reflective drives, quiet time, and pause-to-pray moments in the last 48 hours that it's time to cheer up and just be positive and happy so I'm just going to give a quick list of things that made me smile recently.

We tried a new Pho Place. It was a win! #NewFavorite
The same night I found out about my ex coworker, I could not sleep (as evident in my 1:30am blog post) so I [softly] told Ron that I'm going to the kitchen to make sleepytime tea. He responded, mumbling, "Okay, I love you."

Ron and I are going to San Diego this coming weekend for the Del Mar California Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge Race. No, I did not and do not plan to enter the race but my very physically fit husband registered so now we're driving down there to, stay the night then come back to Los Angeles for Mothers' Day. Next time he tells me he wants to go to a race, I would definitely check for any holidays we celebrate around that day. I already have stuff I want to do during my 24-hour stay there but the thing is, I do not think we have time to do much at all so the only definite thing on my list is to eat at this one Filipino Restaurant that serves Filipino street food. I'm getting excited! :)

Oh Monday

Jacket: PacSun. Sweater: Forever21.
For some reason, I was really happy and all smiles when I took pictures of this outfit. Maybe because I'm obsessed with this jacket and the sleeves of the sweater!LOL #SoShallowSometimes
Oh well, you know what they say: Smile. It may be Monday, not a bad life.

How was everyone's weekend?

Stay Happy, Stay in Love

Soooo, I think it's time to finally share pictures from our wedding? I actually mentioned it in one of my recent posts but I feel the need to make the sharing of these with you guys official. I created a page for it but since I have not had the chance to fix my blog's layout yet, here they are! :)

One weekend in November, we decided to book a chapel in Las Vegas for a December wedding. It did not take too long for us to decide where we're going to have it and we're glad that it did not back fire. After little hurdles along the way, we tied the knot and are now living happily in our little rental townhouse, sleeping with our legs tangled, waking up hearing and saying those three words and everything lovey dovey you can think of ;)

Enjoy the pictures!

Why I Love My Husband...

Two days late? No not really, I just wanted to post it on our second month as a married couple. ;)

Well, I got this idea from Laura of Mouse in the Kitchen and thought, heeey, this is a good idea since Ron and I are still getting to know each other's quirks and stuff. So here are ten reasons...
1. He let's me be me. I am a pretty moody person. A single misplaced thing in the kitchen that I cannot find can (and will) frustrate me. And when I ask him to back off, he does and he does not force me to be all happy and cheery again.
2. He accepts my laziness and sometimes gives in to it. I am a HUGE lazy person. I can stay in the couch all day and watch TV or do marathons (thanks, Netflix). I don't think he's ever done that by himself and I on the other hand am an expert at it. There was this one weekend that we did this for the first time and as soon as he noticed that it was already dark out, he just said: Love, we haven't moved! I just smiled, gave him a kiss. Welcome to my world, love. ;)
3. He let's me be in charge. Although sometimes it bugs me, I kind of like it.
4. He dances with me. Sometimes, I prefer playing music than turning the TV on and often times, when Ron gets up in the morning and finds me in the kitchen, I will be having my own concert in the kitchen while preparing breakfast (or lunch). Then he will give me a kiss and will dance with me. It's fun, try it. ;)
5. He loves to shop. Enough said.
6. He eats whatever I cook. I love that. Even the most disastrous things I make, he tastes eats. Even if I don't taste them because I'm counting calories. LOL
7. When I randomly yell out, "IT'S SO COLD!" He asks me if I want to turn on the heater right away. Even if he's in the middle of something.
8. He let's me make fun of him and tickle wrestle with him. He does not always fight back because I bite, run and/or pinch him.
9. He takes me to his basketball games. I'm supportive and he just wants me there I guess.
10. He doesn't mind watching the Kardashians and Carrie Diaries with me. Hahaha! The girl from Carrie Diaries is so pretty. We spent the third episode figuring out what makes her face super cute - it's her eyes, hair and eyelashes.

Now tell me, what's your favorite thing about your other half?

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies
-Ron is almost done with his bike parts shopping spree. His bike looks handsome (like him) by the way.

-I had lunch with my sister and my best friend. It's been a while.
-As of Tuesday, I have officially lost 8.3 lbs. That's equivalent to a few inches all around my body.
-I am almost halfway my 90-day workout. 45 days to go and I can do the 30-day shred!
-My mom's birthday is on Sunday. Another year of blessings for her! Yay!
-Ron said that his coworkers love that I pack lunch for him. I only do it on days when they don't have food at work though. :)
-That I realized that I'm always lucky to wake up and have another day and be able to tell Ron I love him. Yes, that's the last and the first thing I do everyday.
-Getting something in the mail with us addressed as husband and wife.
-Valentine's Day was perfect.
Our office got us all these treats!
A+ for effort. I mean seriously, who got the same thing from
their special one? ;)

Crappies
-My favorite vegan leather pleather jacket is starting to run big.
-I missed Saturday, Monday and Thursday's workout.
-News about Christopher Dorner. #YouCantKillFireWithFire

The Kind of Happy that People Write Embarrassing Songs About

That's us. We replace some words in songs to say what we want to say.
We're very silly like that and I would love us to stay that way forever.

Santa Claus Came to Town!

Last Saturday, we headed to our friends in the Inland Empire for our annual Christmas party - it's the third one! Woohoo! We ate, played CLR, White Elephant and had a gift raffle that also turned into a White Elephant. Hahaha! We got pretty awesome gifts and I also found out that their first impression of me was that I'm a snob. Yeah, I used to have thinner eyebrows and maybe that was it. I swear, the first time I met our friends, I was shy as hell that I was so uncomfortable because I'm a socially awkward person who could not start a conversation to save my life. I always just smile and say hi and that was it. But of course, as the years went on, we became more comfortable around each other.

Our Christmas Eve was surprisingly busy. We had some unexpected visitors (it reminded me of OTH's Thanksgiving episode where everyone goes to Hailey and Nate's), thanks to my cousin who forgot to tell us that she invited some of our friends over to our house. Haha! My plan for a quiet Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas turned to a party right when our friends got to our house. Thank God we made more food than four ladies and one guy could consume!
At twelve midnight, we cheered holiday greetings and hugged and kissed each other. I (of course) started giving out gifts because I'm always excited to see everyone's reaction when they see what Ron and I picked out for them. At this point, my limb muscles were starting to ache and even had to ask my mom to please stop touching me when she laughs (you know that little harmless punch when they laugh? That kind.). I knew it was the flu and it was already that bad but I cannot imagine leaving Ron alone to entertain people on the first Christmas we ever hosted.
The aftermath of the opening of presents was too much for me to look at considering how little our house is... before I had a panic attack, Ron came to the rescue and started to pick trash up. Oh my darling ;)
My cousin and a couple more friends came over after midnight and the party continued on until 5 am. Let me just tell you this: it was so much fun, one of our friends fell off a stool. Hahaha!

I am now back at work after battling with the flu for 3 days. Yes, only three days (I usually need 4-5 days). Thank you to Tylenol Cold & Flu Sever and Coldeeze. If you have not tried Coldeeze, you have to give it a try, it works way better than Zicam.

It's my first day back at work form Christmas break and my last work day of 2012 and I'm already excited for the New Year break! All the (paid) days off I get from here makes me feel so blessed, happy and giddy.

How was your Christmas break? What did you get? :D

His Birthday Vacay (iPhone)

Disclaimer: You might get an overload of my boyf's face in this post! ;)

Me: What do you want for your birthday, a gift or a vacation?
Boyf: Both!
Me: Okay then, where do you want to go?
Boyf: Surprise me!

And so the pressure was on. I've always looked at him as someone who loves to travel (he actually filled 3 passports as a kid) and loves discovering new things and be the one to tell people about it. I looked through Groupon Getaways, LivingSocial Escapes and SniqueAway to look for great destinations and I discovered Lake Arrowhead! I booked the hotel and looked for activities there - hiking hit the spot since it was something we both like doing.

Here are some pictures I took with my phone during the trip...

It all started here! My SUPER FAVORITE sarong over his eyes and his earphones did the trick.
He later on admitted that he got a little motion sickness in the middle of the trip.
I was fascinated by this. They were everywhere! It reminded me of the squirrels in
cartoons when we were kids!
