The Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin.
I got this for only $1.60 at Big Lots when they had 20% off everything. These do not work very well with my super long hair but I'm sure if I got a haircut, it would work better.

The Secret of the Old Clock: 80th Anniversary Limited Edition
I found this book and HAD to buy it. I still remember the time when I leveled up from Nancy Drew Notebooks to Nancy Drew Mystery Stories. Anybody else a fan of Nancy Drew Books? Sweet Valley? Goosebumps? :)

Operation Smile!

Today, I'm going to talk about two things, renting books and Operation Smile.

First: Renting Books.
I was always lucky to find someone who just finished a class and is selling the book I need in campus so I have never tried renting books. When CampusBookRentals.com reached out to me, I did my research [found that my book for Psychology (Psycohology by Davis and Palladino 6th Ed) that I got for over $150 can be rented out for $13] and got excited about this kind of service. So, if you're in college right now and always have a need for new textbooks, well, here are some perks of renting them:
-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
-they donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented...and this leads me to my next point...

Second: Operation Smile.
via
CampusBookRentals.com have partnered with Operation Smile, an organization that performs cleft lip surgeries on children who could not afford it. I come from a country where I've seen a lot of kids with cleft lips whose parents cannot afford to have surgeries performed on them so this is a big deal to me. I remember just a couple of weeks ago, I was telling Ron how it's such an easy procedure for doctors to perform but it's too bad that some people could not afford it for their kids. This, right here is actually what triggered me to say yes to CampusBookRentals.com and partner with them.

Have you ever tried renting textbooks online?
Is Operation Smile something you'll support?

After the Storm and Fifty Shades of Grey

Driving alone always gives me peace of mind and time to look and appreciate how pretty the sky is. I'm bad at describing things so when I saw the sky while driving after a recent storm here in LA, I reached in my purse to let my hand look for my camera and blindly took pictures.

I have been so into the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy that I have finished the first book in less than 48 hours. I think it's safe to say that I'm hooked and this is the first trilogy or series of books that I found really, really interesting. I heard that they're going to create an adaptation of the book - I don't think it's going to work unless they're going to bring soft pornography into pop culture.

Has anybody else read the book?

Nothing More than $7.

After Ron worked last Saturday, we went to Puente Hills mall to eat at Max's of Manila and check out our favorite stores there. Ron did not get anything but I got the little trinkets below and 3 books that I am about to read.

Yes folks, I'm staying home today because I got food poisoning from the Sashimi salad I ordered last night - I usually post photos of what I ate for the weekend, but not today... :(

$7. Could somebody please tell me how to use this hairpin?

$2.
$1.50.

$1.50.

$2 each! I fell in love with the Dollar Bok Fair the minute I saw it at the mall.
I got so excited, I held tightly on my boyfriend's and and dragged him in.
I was not able to get a book the 1st time because we had to be somewhere
so when I went back, I had to make sure I got at least 3 book. This store will
most probably get me into reading more than I have ever been!
