Operation Smile!

Today, I'm going to talk about two things, renting books and Operation Smile.

First: Renting Books.
I was always lucky to find someone who just finished a class and is selling the book I need in campus so I have never tried renting books. When CampusBookRentals.com reached out to me, I did my research [found that my book for Psychology (Psycohology by Davis and Palladino 6th Ed) that I got for over $150 can be rented out for $13] and got excited about this kind of service. So, if you're in college right now and always have a need for new textbooks, well, here are some perks of renting them:
-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
-they donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented...and this leads me to my next point...

Second: Operation Smile.
via
CampusBookRentals.com have partnered with Operation Smile, an organization that performs cleft lip surgeries on children who could not afford it. I come from a country where I've seen a lot of kids with cleft lips whose parents cannot afford to have surgeries performed on them so this is a big deal to me. I remember just a couple of weeks ago, I was telling Ron how it's such an easy procedure for doctors to perform but it's too bad that some people could not afford it for their kids. This, right here is actually what triggered me to say yes to CampusBookRentals.com and partner with them.

Have you ever tried renting textbooks online?
Is Operation Smile something you'll support?

  1. If I wasn't a minor; I'd support it :)
It seems great, but KONY 2012 seemed great as well so I'd read some more recommendations before I actually rented one :)
    but in general: love it!
