The past few weeks have been SO busy, with my sister's entire family moving to the US and all. I think it'll settle down a bit now though. Ron and I ran errands and rearranged the living area and it all started from a smell that I was not a fan of.

Birthday Dress + $500 Cash Giveaway

I wore this red dress to my birthday dinner exactly eleven days ago today. Ron took me to Portofino Cucina Italiana in LA where our romantic 5-course meal was absolutely amazing! This red dress is one of my most favorite Forever21 sale buys because I only grabbed it so I have something to try on but I ended up loving it, and it has the perfect shade of red. Since I'm tall, it also has the perfect maxi length that I prefer.

In other news, I came across an article on HuffPost entitled "2 Ways To Be Happier" and immediately asked myself, what makes me happy. I thought of Ron, Fox and Chippy, my dogs and food. However, the article was not about tangible things, it is about how you can make yourself and other people happier. The article also emphasizes that happiness is a choice and that in can be found in two ways: by a shift in your perspective and recognizing something you are thankful for, and two, committing random acts of kindness. It's a pretty good read in my opinion...especially if you're having a rough time.

As you can see, my gold penny loafers and I have become best friends again. It's been my go-to shoes when I noticed a chip on my toe nail polish.. It's simple enough to be worn with anything and almost everything and loud enough to make a statement. Oh see that top above? I think I may have found my new favorite tank top that I will wear at least once every two weeks this summer. I would have gotten all of the prints but most of them were very...not my style.

Blush in Parka + $500 Amazon Giveaway

Per usual, LA's temps have been jumping around from low 50s to high 70s again. The other week, we got an awesome cloudy spell. Well, it was generally awesome because it wasn't hot but the drizzle was not cool because Ron just washed my car. It was great to feel that chilly wind again though. I loved it!

A couple of weeks ago, for some reason, I started re-obsessing about getting a new camera again. Ron promised to look for a good deal before I jump the gun and buy one at a higher price. He then found that Canon has refurbished ones in stock and on sale on their site! Woot woot! A day later after I bought it, it was sold out. So now, we are proud owners of a Canon EOS 70D! :)

Ron is celebrating his birthday today! [HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOVE!] We don't have anything planned for today yet because we love to live life on the edge...just kidding! We're going to have shrimp and crawfish for dinner and this coming weekend is actually our cruise weekend. I still remember the first time I laid my eyes on my mom's eyelet top. I was so thrilled that at 10 years old, I was already her size and that means I can borrow her clothes. Spring is here you guys! I know, everyone's talking about it. LOL Well it is an awesome time of the year and I wish to send everyone half of all the sunshine we've been getting. We sort of had a heat wave in the past week and it's not that fun when you love the cold weather. On the brighter side, we get to break out our dresses and sandals again! <3

Life has been so hectic. I blame school and my ability to pressure myself to do shit ahead of time. Also, spring forward got to me bad this year. I am having a hard time adjusting. My body's sleeping time is the same as before so in the morning, it's such a pain for me to get up because I don't get as much sleep. I got to do one good thing for Jan Loves though; I finally installed Disqus. It makes replying and keeping the conversation going so easy!

Layering can sometimes still surprise Ron. When I took my chambray top off as we were shooting, he let out a "woah." The good kind. He said because he really likes the dress on me probably because he is my number one fan. ;) So I decided to share how the dress actually looks like without anything covering my shoulders.

In ten days, Spring will be officially here in LA. I say officially because it's been feeling like Spring since February and my allergies seem to have flared up earlier this year than the past years. Who else loves spring? :)

How much do you love that detail in this sweater? I was obsessed! During my trip to Houston earlier this year, my friends and I stopped by Forever 21 in downtown to pass time before the brewery opened. They had the buy one, get one free sale going on that time and even though I knew I had limited space in my luggage, the stubborn me still got a chunky cardigan (see here) and this chunky sweater. I mean, who wouldn't if it only costs $16.99 for both?! I should also mention that I got the Free People cropped lace tube from Marshalls for $10. WIN!

If there was a kind of clothing that I don't have much of, it would be sweaters. I mean, that should be a given when living in LA. You have no choice but to have so many light cardigans and tops. Our weather is so unpredictable sometimes that I feel the need to wear a top and a cardigan almost everyday.

Weekends have been insanely crazy and have been flying by super fast. I'll be honest: I feel like weekends fly by every week but Christmas still feels so far away. Can Christmas eve be tomorrow already so I can watch my family open presents at 12:00 of 12/25?! Haha! JK! I am not really 100% ready yet! -- this rant isn't the point of this post though...

Last Friday, I went home 50 minutes early from work because I could not remember if I unplugged my hair straightener or not. I know, so bad but I actually unplugged it but I couldn't remember doing so. That afternoon, I was able to watch a couple of movies on Netflix while doing my laundry, I got to relax after, and then make dinner. I have this thing where I always light a candle when I cook because it gets rid of the odor from whatever I'm cooking. I don't like making our house smell like food because it will make the couch and anything made of fabric in the house smell like food. Spaghetti scented couch? No, thank you.
This time, I lit my Apple Slice Diamond Candle from DiamondCandles.com. Their candles are unique in a way that I will never think of - they have a ring in every candle! The rings in the candles can be worth $10, $100, $1,000 or $5,000. That part isn't even the best part. I've never intentionally had soy candles, God know if I have one at home but I noticed that the candle they sent me is not only gently fragrant and not overpowering, but it burns so slowly that I feel like my candle will last a year.

Facepalm + Giveaway

It's been pretty chilly here in LA or as one of my friends and I call it, "nippy." Hahaha! Anyway, I almost forgot about these photos. These were taken back in October when I can still wear pretty light clothes. I am in love with these shoes by the way. I don't wear them often because honestly, sometimes every time I take them out, I don't know what I'm doing when I'm planning an outfit to go with them. *facepalm* I kind of need help in this department.

Last night, Ron returned the fancy camera flash he got a couple of weeks ago. He also made sure that I didn't care. I honestly did not care about it since I have not been into taking pictures (and outfits) lately. Anyway, while he was on my phone (I don't know why but one of our friends like calling him through my phone), I heard him say, "Yeah, I returned the camera flash so I can buy stuff for my mountain bike *giggles like a school girl*." I butted in in a very soft voice, "So that's why..."*facepalm* Oh my, oh my, I love this silly guy.

Since then, I believed that aside from our feet, our eyes have been one of the most abused, taken for granted parts of the body... I'm guilty of that. Having to work in front of the computer for 8 hours, I knew I needed glasses. Living in a sunny state also does not help, did you know that wearing sunglasses can help to prevent having cataract when you're older? Okay I'm going to stop boring you with all these and just get to the point...
