As hard as it is to do it, I now have to remind myself that I'm back in Los Angeles. We had a great trip. Somehow, going to Vegas with only three other people makes up for a smooth sailing trip. How was your weekend?

It's 82F.
It's almost noon.
I'm ready for a champagne brunch or lunch or whatever.

So, here are the pictures I promised earlier today :)

Left: Loaded up on Fat Tuesday's Mangoberry right when we got to Caesars Palace.*
Right: Taken in the Palazzo elevator on our way down.

Left: ATB played the night we were at Marquee.
Right: The limo we rented to get us to Downtown Las Vegas.

Left: We were happy semi-drunks!
Right: Lovey ;)

Left: This is the view on the way down from Marquee
Right: Someone got access to the open bar! It's great to be a girl in Vegas. Did I mention my girlfriends and I got complimentary entrance as well? :)

*We HAD to go to Caesars Palace to check out the H&M there. It was huuuge and they had items that weren't available in the H&Ms I go to here in LA! So if you're there, make sure to stop by the H&M there. Okay? Okay! :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! :)

The weekend was so fun, I can't wait to share more pictures with you all! In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures...

Seriously, who could resist a photobooth? ;)
While the other boys were away taking shots, we asked an event photographer to take our picture :)
By the way, thanks to my new followers! I logged on Blogger today and found that I now have 180 followers! :) Yay!

My Take on Hotels in Vegas

June 2009 - Encore
We went here for my 22nd birthday..and yes it was my first time as well. The hotel was new so it was the "in" hotel at that time. The room was spacious and we got a view of the strip which is ALWAYS a plus! One thing I didn't like was that it's really, really expensive - we averaged $630 a night.

November 2009 - Monte Carlo
This trip was a spontaneous one as Ron wanted to take his mom somewhere outside of LA. We drove to Vegas and stayed at the Monte Carlo. Its name has a classy ring to it which I liked. I cannot remember how much we paid but I'm sure it was less than $150 a night. The hotel was a little old in my opinion, it needs some serious modernizing. I did not see anything special in this hotel.

August 2010 - Aria
This hotel was another place we chose because it was less than a year old. We paid an average of $250 a night (I think). One thing I did not like about this hotel was that the rooms were SMALL. I'm not even exaggerating. The casino in this hotel smelled funky. It was like a mixture of 10 different perfumes - I am allergic to weird smells so I had to cover my nose to avoid having a sneeze galore.

October 2010 - Palazzo
I think all the rooms at the Palazzo were suites so each had a sectional and a king bed or 2 queen beds. I love how there was a "living area" in our room and there's somewhat a divider between the living and bed area. There was just enough space for 2 people to walk in the spaces between the furniture.

April 2010 - Wynn
This trip was for my boyfriend's 25th birthday. He got a deal of one free room for 2 nights on a weekend and we took advantage of it! We got an extra room for our other friends though which costed an average of $500 per night.
That's our room in mirror image.

October 2011 - THEHotel at Mandalay Bay
This is the south-est we've gone in Vegas. I loved how inexpensive it was and how everyone slept comfortably. There was a bedroom with two beds and a full bath with a huge tub and a living room with a half bath. I was surprised that our room was that awesome!

So here are somethings to consider when picking a hotel in Vegas:
The square footage of the room and how many people are going - 725sq feet was perfect for 6 people when we went the last time. That was THEsuite at THEHotel in Mandalay Bay.
Average $ per night - because it's always good to stay on a budget ;)
(Some say) location in the strip - from my experience this doesn't matter since you'll be riding cabs all day. Also, being able to stay in different parts of the strip would give you more room to explore new places!

Where? What? VEGAS!

Last weekend was supposed to be one of those chill, relaxed weekends I always look forward to but it turned out to be awesome-er! ;) My friends and I are never good at planning anything so one of us decided to book a hotel and tell everyone who wanted to go to Vegas to pack and head there on Friday. Of course, Ron and I WANTED to go. We've been wanting to go back since we got back in LA from Vegas in April... yes, that bad. Here are the few pictures we were able to take...

Woke up to these lights! And yes, slept through pretty much the whole drive to Vegas.

In the restaurant at the California hotel for their infamous Oxtail soup. They only serve it after 11pm for those people who are having the munchies. 70% of the people who come to this place to eat are Filipinos.

California Hotel's Oxtail soup with rice. You can also get it with brown rice. Five stars.
Here's a picture of our suite after the cleaning lady cleaned and fixed it. Pretty fly I tell you.

Now off we go restaurant hunting at the Mandalay Bay!

We decided to eat at the Noodle House. Fair prices, good portions. Three stars.
Got a Ketel One with Lemonade to start the night.

This picture was taken maybe like half an hour before we left. I've been saying this since yesterday but Ron and I are getting old. We got tired partying. Haha! Four stars for the club as the dance floor is WAY too small for a Vegas club. I'm an XS baby so please excuse the picky-ness.

Ron had 4 crab legs, I had 5. He didn't finish the plate on the left, I finished all of mine. Pretty ballsy move knowing that  I was going to drive us kind of halfway home. Five stars for this resto.
My tiny dessert plate! :)

This is the first time that I did not set foot at the Wynn and Encore - those two hotels are our favorite but they're a little to pricey for a spontaneous trip.

My life is such a bore. Actually no, I was kidding. I just realized that lately, all I have been doing are things I love. Eating, shopping, staying at home and being the most talkative person in the world, bugging my boyfriend while he's playing games on his phone, watching TV... One thing that you won't see in the list is surfing the internet. I work in front of a computer 8 hours a day or more, 5 days a week so there's no reason for me to strain my eyes more after work.

I am going to take Friday off! Yipee! We're going to Vegas for Ron's birthday. He won't be celebrating with someone this time, it's just going to be HIS DAY. Nothing else to consider but what Ron wants to do. He's turning 25 and he loves Vegas so he figured, why not go there? The "25th birthday thing" was actually my idea since I don't want him to have a lame-o birthday celebration AAAND I also want to make sure that all his guests are comfortable and are at peace with the other guests.

Okay so that's what's going on. I need to get back to what I am supposed to be doing during my break. :)
