A Birthday and Another Holiday

*Picture taken 3 years ago.
My baby big boy, nephew and first boy I truly fell in love with celebrated his birthday last night (Manila time so technically this shout out isn't late tee-hee). I talked to him this morning before I left our house and asked how his day went, what presents he got and you know the stuff aunts ask their nephews. It's always cute that I have these little people (him and his sister) I could talk to from the other side of the world...also love that he gets the timezone differences! I mean, it was 10:30pm his time and there I was telling him I need to leave for work. I would have definitely taken a day off for him if I we lived in the same country.

My coworker/friend sent an email yesterday asking everyone to dress professionally because it's Administrative Professionals' Day. I made some Chocolate Banana Muffins and she baked cookies to celebrate. Our office is so quiet sometimes, we need holidays like this we can get excited about.

Halloween!

While walking around the swap meet last Sunday, easy, inexpensive costume ideas popped in my head. I had 3 ideas:

A Hobo - but since I live in LA where anybody can be a bum who walks around with a sign, I figured, I should keep my options open.

A bubble wrap person - but this meant i have to make sure my costume does not fall apart... (SOURCE)

Another choice was to be a piñata... And yes, I actually came to work as one ;) Thanks to Instructables.com for inspiring how I made my costume.

Anywaaaaaaaaaay...

Stay safe everyone :) I took this photo at work, there were a TON of fake flickering candles around the office as Halloween decorations. You can view pictures from our office party here: http://minus.com/mb0ypip2O

Grace Under Pressure

Last week was probably the worst week in my professional life. I failed miserably in balancing work and play and was so stressed that my body actually decided to react to it on its own without any warning. Naah, I didn't get sick or anything, it's going to be TMI is I shared it on here. ;)

So 2 weekends ago, Ron and I got a massage... well I got battered by this lady who slid her elbow down my spine - definitely a newb's mistake but after that, I just got so stressed while being massaged. It was definitely annoying but I got through it and it was followed by the most stressful week ever.
I started on a Tuesday - hate when 5 day weeks turn into 4 day weeks because Monday was a holiday. I'd rather have Friday as a holiday than Monday. Anyway, we had to work on a client's gig on Thursday which started at 6am NEW YORK TIME. That's 3 hours ahead of Los Angeles so go figure. It was amazing that I got through the whole day at work but mind you, it felt like I was floating. Lack of sleep is probably my brain's worst enemy.

So after that was Friday which was not very pleasant because I had a headache which was carried over from Thursday due to lack of sleep. We went to eat Korean BBQ for dinner with our friends and then Ron and I decided to stay at home and sleep and prepare for a busy day on Saturday. I had to drive with mommy last Saturday and eat a lot at her friend's house and then go back home. The drive was an hour each way, I didn't really mind it, I guess I'm already used to driving... The food was amazing and the best part was that everything was homemade! Oh my tummy was so happy!!! We (meaning the adults and I) also played in the jump jump! Always love playing in that thing. Haha!
At O Dae San. Ron and I haven't had KBBQ in so long.

Ron's brother sent us Ray-bans!
Ron and I went shopping on Sunday and all I got were a pair of earrings from F21 and pillows... we always have a good night's sleep in my bed but lately we've both been complaining about back pain and I've been whining about how flat my head pillows are so he convinced me to buy new pillows. I got extra firm ones and they're great so far (only had them for a night though)!

So now I'm back in the grind, preparing for a lazy weekend next week. Ron has school and I have an exam on the 20th so we're aiming to study the whole weekend at his place. ;)

I hope you all have a great week!

So Lately

It's been a while. I've been so busy with work, school, my family, boyfriend and friends. And on top of that, I am trying to not go online if it's not necessary. I have not had things that are worthy to blog about so I kept my mouth shut in the blogworld.

I've been shopping so much lately. I realized that I have not been updating my wardrobe that much so I have been splurging on things I "need." Hey, every girl needs to look pretty! Hopefully, I get to wear everything soon since I have this mentality of only wearing pretty clothes on the weekend when in fact I should have worn them to work because I bought it for that reason. I'm also starting to try to "dress better" at work to give people more reason to respect me and look up to me. Hopefully, that's enough reason to get a promotion. ;) With that said, I promised myself to STOP buying plain tees because I have enough of those already. I need printed, romantic, collared or anything that would pass the business casual dress code.

*I think I just heard my mom start her car.. wonder where she's going...*

Oooh, I have also been driving my new own car again! Yes!!! 2,000 miles in 1 month baby! My car is going to kill me! Haha! I got a 2007 Mazda 6 sedan on April 20th and I LOVE it! It's a little different from cars I've driven before in terms of handling and gas mileage but it's so reliable. My only complain is that it's too fat and long (THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!). My sister is also excited about it because she actually helped my buy it. She was the one who drove it home from the dealer and I drove her car. The MPG is really good too, I use less than a quarter of a tank in week. Picture below was take on the day I got my car. ;)*

If you're looking for my Subaru, it got wrecked last September. I took that as a sign that I am not supposed to own a Subaru yet. :)
