Long Break

It's been (relatively) way too long since I last posted and to anyone if there ever is a person who checked my blog and there was nothing new, I am so sorry. Life was so busy, but fortunately, I made time to catch up and remind myself what is important...family will always be my number one. It's a loooong story but I am happy to say that I've lessened the weight I on my shoulders and I am a much happier person now. I had one foot inside the unhappy place's door but thank God for his guidance and everyone who encouraged me to get on the track that will make me happier, I am here where I am supposed to be...I think. ;)

On anoter note, I would like to wish everyone a happy long weekend. And please remember: we are supposed to think of our fallen heroes. #sayalittleprayer

Regular Programming

We're back to regular programming here and hopefully, it stays this way until I can actually get used to this work and school lifestyle again. So far, my brain is not handling it too well. I've been feeling stressed because I was catching up on my homework...which I thought only required me to read two chapters. As it turns out, we also need to submit an actual homework in class. So I crammed...and knowing myself, I'm not into that cramming shit. I used to be so good at it in high school but I'm not in high school anymore so you could just imagine how pissed I was at the world last night. o_O

On a more positive note, we had an amazing time in the Northwest.
Yep, it was sunnier in Seattle (than in LA) last Friday. :)
Although it was not exactly a relaxing trip because we tried hard to squeeze in as many things to do as possible, the trip was still a great getaway from LA. I think the only down time we had was when we were on the road when we had a chance to take a nap. I always try to stay up though so someone is awake with the driver but I failed on that for the most part. I can't wait to share pictures from there!

Fox stayed with mom the entire weekend, including Friday and I was so worried for the both of them. Mom hates the cold and rain and Fox hates walking under the rain and those two things about each creature made me worry about how Fox would do #1 and #2 during the storm. They made it through though and Ron and I are super glad they did! :) Fox was even able to go to doggie day camp on Friday while mommy was at work.

Gotta go now, I'm done eating lunch and I shall continue working. Laters.

Today's Big Question

I have probably seen everyone juice the shit out of fruits and vegetable. What's wrong with chewing?

On other news, June gloom is here this week. It was even sprinkling on my way to work but my spirits are high because I love gloomy weather...or maybe it's because I already had my morning coffee. Either way, it's a good day! :)

How You Doin?

So my week has been about dog walks, making dinner and stepping up at work. LOL WHAAAT? Yeah, someone quit so we need to try to move on and well, get the job done!

Last night, I had a migraine. It started after I played with Fox. Ron was such a darling and took care of the dog and me. He let me go to bed early after giving me Aleve to get rid of the headache. I woke up happy and relieved today to the sound of a tiny dog whining. I ignored him until it was already time for our walk - Ron walks him thrice a day and I do it twice. Here's a picture of us after playing and me trying to rest so the migraine doesn't worsen...that did not work. LOL

My coolest aunt and my mom are coming over this weekend. The funny thing is, they're coming over after they party. LOL And well, I will just be at home waiting for them. I feel like I'm literally raising my mom and her friend. Going to IM my mom in a bit to ask about their plans so I know when I need to prepare something for them. I think it's about time someone makes them a Filipino meal. :)

I have not baked since...last week and something in me wants to punch myself just to push me to bake. Ha!

So how is your week going?

Sad-Happy-Sad-Happy

I could easily consider this week one of the worst weeks this year but honestly, I think it just made happier about where I am in life right now.

On Sunday, I learned that one of my ex-coworkers committed suicide. It's one of the worst text messages you could get when you're just about ready to cuddle up with your husband and just unwind, watching an NBA game. It made me realize that I am lucky to have my husband, my family and friends who were there as soon as I kind of expressed that I am not okay.

On Tuesday, I had the worst allergy attack. When Ron got home from the gym, he had dinner and headed to the pharmacy to get me allergy medicine. Although he got me the kind that made me SUPER drowsy [still kind of laughing that he sort of blamed me for not telling him to get the non-drowsy one hihihi], I loved it when he gave me a kiss on my head and told me to just go to sleep then tucked me in.
I was pretty much like this. Hahaha!

On Thursday, I went to a place I've never been to before in La Cresenta during rush hour. I would never do that but I already did and I'm pretty proud of myself because I always make Ron drive when we're going to a place we've never been to.

Today, I did not bring the tables that we need for an office party. So after working an hour and a half, I drove home to get them. The fancy grilled cheese party was pretty fun. I was really happy to see everyone get together.

After work, I got my oil changed at Firestone and they told me that I need to get my struts and two tires replaced and gave me an estimate for $800+. In my head, I was yelling, "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME." I acted cool, drove home and stopped by Ron's mechanic's auto shop and they gave me an estimate for $560. Not bad, right? I know $500 is still a chunk of money I'd rather spend elsewhere but I NEED my car so it's a priority.
On my way home, I decided I want a large cup of tapioca milk tea but my favorite place only accepted cash. I parked my car by Tapioca Express, walked to the Dollar Store, buy something and get cash back (so I don't have to pay the ATM fees. As it turns out, the Dollar Store does not do cash backs. So I dug through everything to gather $3. Hahaha!

Now I'm home, iMessaging with my sisters and telling them about the worst thing I'm doing today... watching Maury. Even sent them a video of it. Hahahaha!

See, if these things happened in another week, I would be head over heels stressed but I'm thankful it happened during the time that I definitely know who the people in my support system are.

Have a great weekend, everyone! :)

In and Out

I've been in and out of blogging for a couple of weeks now. I'm pretty sure I'm not losing interest entirely, I think I just want and need to take a break from getting stuck in front of my laptop at night. Sometimes I feel like doing other time-consuming things like reading, watching TV and baking. I guess I'm trying to balance out the things I love doing instead of getting stuck with just one of them.

I have also been in and out of working out and eating healthy. I think I can officially say I'm done with Power90 because it already gave me what I needed. LOL I'll still do the exercise from time to time though.

I am on Bloglovin too. Follow me? #PrettyPlease Please also leave me your Bloglovin link so I can follow you back!

I really, really like taking days off. I took Friday off last week with Ron thinking my our family from Chicago would be in LA but their trip got postponed. So we spent the day doing things I've been wanting to do. Days like this remind me of how lucky I am to be married to a guy like Ron. He's always willing to hear out what I want to do. This should be in another blog post :)

Every Monday, I always look miserable, like I had the WORST weekend ever. However. That's actually not the case. My weekends are always great. Too great to end. #WhyAreWeekendsAlwaysTooShort

Please excuse my tweets about the Lakers. I'm a fan. #SorryNotSorry

Sorry!

Hi all! I took quite a break from blogging. Life was busy in the past week. We went to Vegas, ate tons of food (as usual) and had a really great time!

Anyway, here are little tidbits...

I need to take outfit photos again.

I am a little sad that The X Factor is coming to an end. No more amazing performances and Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell bickering. Haha! Don't get me wrong, I love the both of them!

I got teary while watching Barney propose to Robin. So I'm watching it again. ;)

I am obsessed with Ed Sheeran's Kiss Me. Whenever I play that song, I smile and become all smitten.

The weather in SoCal is crazy right now. We have a Frost Advisory. Did you just say,"huh?" Yeah, me too.

I had a terryfying experience on Monday that taught me a HUGE lesson. Here's my Facebook post to give you an idea:

I have gained a lot of weight that I know need to shed. Or keep through building more muscle. But before that, let me get over this rut I'm in called laziness! ;)

I LOVE my man :)
October 2009.

Happy Holidays! :)

It's Over

Sooo if you have not noticed yet, I've been slacking on blogging. On the other hand, I'd like to look it at it more like a hobby...to make me feel better about not responding to emails. Gah. Cold weather makes me lazy.

My 5-day weekend break is over. I think it was enough but of course, it's human instict to ask for more. I was literally saying "I don't want to" everytime my alarm woke up from snoozing this morning. Oh wells, life if good and I thank God for another day to spend with people I love.

It's been a week since Ron proposed but I'm still in awe. It suddenly felt like our life was actually on track. LOL No more asking Ron if our presents should come from just me or the both of us this year! Everything's from Ron and Jan this year, regardless of who bought it. I also got done with our "love story" video. Yay! I'll share that very soon :)

Saturday was pretty random. Ron went to the gym and I... I played Just Dance 4 by myself for that day's workout. I also had a craving for frozen yogurt so we went to Yogurtland.

Sunday as another trip to the mall because Ron had to get some stuff. I have no idea what because he kept on making me just walk around the mall alone.
I was alone so I tried on stuff at J Crew.
Scarf: Forever21
Sweater: H&M
Leggings: Cotton On
Boots: Mom's Closet Studio Pollini
Bag: Steve Madden
At Victoria Gardens for the Magic Snow.
At It's Sugar.
Made Ron pose by Santa's Cottage.

A gummy cola, gummy bull frog and a few sour strips later, we went home and had Nilagang Baka (Beef Stew with Clear Broth) for dinner.
Yes, that's bone marrow. It's pretty good but VERY high in cholesterol.
 How was your weekend?

Because I'm Back

Yay! I'm free from other adult responsibilities as of now. So I'm off to the my normal 8-5 job, blogging, being a domesticated girlfriend and doing outfit posts! Oh and hopefully workout regularly. So while the boyfriend is working out at the gym, I'll be on the couch, sipping on my milk tea (I need intervention) and blog. And again, maybe, just maybe, workout. LOL

So, first things first, I have exciting things planned for JanMLoves! First is the launch of the the Facebook page which I already announced and celebrated with a giveaway (HERE). Second, an awesome accessory online (and offline) store will be sponsoring a giveaway on my blog. Third, I'm going to start using Passionfruit for my ads. Okay, enough of my exciting blog news. Here are some pictures...and a video!

I went to the grand opening of the new Forever 21 at the Santa Anita mall.

Tried on these three tops...guess what I got! :)

Spent Sunday night playing cards with Ron and munching on chocolate covered almonds.

Like a lot of other people, we cannot stop looking at holiday decorations. We went to Big Lots the other day and found this hat that amused me so much I had to take a video. The thing cracked me and still cracks me up.

Aaand the winner of the LOVE necklace giveaway is...
a Rafflecopter giveaway Congratulations Krysten! Thanks soooo much for tweeting about the giveaway a whole bunch of times! :)

Moving Update :)

The move is going great! I know. I've been talking about it for a month now but at least we live in it now, right?

The guest room is pretty ready except for some random boxes lying around with things we don't know where to put ;)

The master bed needs more loving. I don't want a cluttered bedroom but you know, a little decoration would make it look better. I recently realized that it's a little difficult to decorate the bedroom when you're living with someone. We may both love black, white, and red but I also like shabby chic and he also likes modern. So yeah, we still don't know what to do with our bedroom. Any ideas?

I really like the one below but the way the door is positioned is awkward so we can't put anything by the door.

And I want this print in our room! Any ideas where I can get it?
